Colour
Tremist is the perfect reflection of a sunny day in a glass of refreshing, blonde beer. This beer presents a slight veil, is beautifully rounded and sports a creamy white collar.
Character, taste and aromas
The aroma reveals an irrepressible complexity. It almost seems like each of the ingredients is jostling to have its say. It is a sublime chain of taste sensations: a touch of sweet from the onset, captured straight away by a decisive aroma of malt, followed by a refreshing zestiness that, in its turn, flows into a balanced finish of bitter. The aromas of red apple, zest of citrus fruits, smoked wood and a hint of vanilla make for a highly balanced taste palette. An exceptional thirst-quencher.
Culinary
Thanks to its complexity, this beer provides a lovely contrast with a wide range of zesty cheeses, but also serves as a valued companion with savoury snacks and amuse-bouches. Its earthiness and full-in-the-mouth character turn it into the perfect match for mussels, asparagus and grilled meat.
Tremist
Tremist is a coppery-blonde, refreshing beer (saison type) with an alcohol volume of 6.4 %. This beer was born from a collaboration between Brouwerij Kazematten and Extremis, a Belgian producer of design furniture based in Poperinge. Tremist was introduced in October 2010 to mark the launch of the “Hopper” picnic table by Extremis, a designer piece that went on to acquire worldwide fame.
The original intention was to offer this beer to customers, but it is now also available from off-licences and has gained an accreditation as a ‘recognised regional product from the Westhoek’. Tremist is brewed with hops from the field owned by Dirk Wynants, a designer and founder of Extremis.
Saison is a beer style that originates from the days when farmers were brewing beer during the quiet winter months to slake the thirst of the many seasonal workers engaged over the summer.
