Kazematten, our city brewery, is located under the old ramparts surrounding the city of Ypres. The unique historic 'Kazematten van het "Houten Paard"'(Casemates of the Wooden Horse) near the Lille Gate have since been transformed into a traditional working brewery. We have been brewing our Wipers Times beers here since 2014. During World War I, British soldiers used these casemates as a location for their publishing outfit, producing a witty, satirical newspaper called ‘The Wipers Times’.
